These are certainly challenging and unchartered territories for us as we face the continued spread of COVID-19.  Although this is usually our busiest time of the year, we have made the decision to close our office effective at 5pm on Monday, March 23 in order to comply with the Governor John Bel Edwards’ statewide Stay at Home order issued on March 22, 2020.

Families 1st Coronavirus Response Act

President Trump has signed into law the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Among other things, the new law temporarily requires certain employers to provide expanded paid sick and family leave for employees affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

 

WHAT BUSINESSES NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE “CARES ACT”, SBA LENDING AND LOAN FORGIVENESS

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or “(CARES) Act”—the third emergency bill that Congress has prepared in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic—is likely to be signed into law by Friday, March 27, 2020.

IRS extend filing deadline & federal tax payments

The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced today that the federal income tax filing due date is automatically extended from April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020.
